Hello There! My name is Jenna and I am an ACSM and ACE certified Personal Trainer with a background in Strength & Conditioning through NSCA, Corrective Exercise through NASM, and Pre and Post Natal Training in the greater NY area. I am a B.S. in Exercise Science from High Point University, and have been working in the health and fitness industry for about 10 years.
I have always been very active growing up, playing on different sports teams [volleyball, track, tennis], running around with my friends outside in the neighborhood and exploring the woods and creek by my house. While in undergrad I taught two group exercise classes [Fab Abs and Bikini Boot Camp] which were both huge successes on the college campus. Even though I knew I wanted to be involved with fitness and helping individuals reach their full potential with a healthy and active lifestyle, it wasn't until teaching these classes, that I realized the influence that I could have on people, and how I really enjoyed working with individuals towards their goals.
I like to run, I do 5Ks, half marathons, and I have completed 2 marathons (one in Denver and the Philadelphia marathon.) I hike, bike, and I like to go on some crazy adventures [skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving.] I am a very fun and courageous person who loves thrill and adventure along with some good relaxation.
I listen to all types of music, from Pop, R&B, Jazz, to Indie rock/folk/pop. I absolutely love movies; and of course, I love to eat.
I am a huge foodie. You could probably call me a fitfoodie. Growing up, my mother was a chef, so for our meals I was lucky to have gourmet cooking whenever I wanted. She taught me, and is still teaching me her ways in the kitchen, which I love.
Exercising is my passion. I enjoy having an active lifestyle. I find great running trails and routes wherever I go; Explore new hiking trails with my friends during the different seasons; and go on long bike rides with my father, who introduced me to the sport of cycling. I try to find fun and exciting activities to get involved in with friends, like unique dance classes, and trampoline parks. I like to have fun! Exercising and other physical activity allows for my free-spirited personally come out.
Teaching people how to perform exercises correctly to reach their goals is what I absolutely love to do. I have provided some exercises that I find very helpful. Try them out and tell me what you think.

Why write this blog?
I can’t help but stress the importance of living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The benefit to exercise, physical activity, and healthy eating is a longer and happier life. Exercise and healthy eating will increase your quality of life by, increasing fitness, lowering blood pressure, lowering heart rate, lowering bad cholesterol, and lowering any risks you may have of cardiovascular disease, and metabolic diseases (ie: diabetes.)
I am starting this blog because I want to reach out to those who wish to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. Whether they are already living one, or they are thinking about making a change. I want this blog to help motivate and inspire individuals to go out and be active. I understand that beginning an exercise program, or even beginning to participate in physical activities, may be hard for some individuals. It can even be hard for people to continue and maintain a program or activities. This blog is meant to get people excited to work towards their optimum health.
This blog will focus on different aspects of living and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. There is a section for exercises, where you can perform workouts at a gym or at home (even outside at a park); there is a section for healthy foods and recipes, which will have different meals and snacks that I like to prepare for myself, my friends, and my family; and there is a physical activities section, which will be a blog of the different activities that I have done, or ideas that you can do to get you outside of your house and to get your body in motion.
